the NW ridge of Mt Sir Donald (3287m, 5.4, alpine III), in Glacier National Park (aka Rogers Pass).
a perfect fall September day but half the ridge was plastered in snow, so we were climbing snow covered rock in mountaineering boots, all the way up 1000 vert metres of a knife-edge ridge!
kinda fun... very memorable....
the stats, Wheeler Hut is 1250m, the Uto-Sir Donald Col is about 2300m (we bivvied a little below the col), & the summit 3287m. a long 13-hour day round trip bivy to bivy...
